Chevrolet C7 Corvette Rumors

Rumors about Chevy’s C7 Corvette have certainly accumulated over the years.
It has been a mid-engined coupe, but also a Stingray revival and also all-wheel drive. Oh, and a turbocharged vehicle.
But the 2014 Corvette will be something different for General Motors. GM global design chief Ed Welburn hunted to Automotive News that redesigning Corvette is “a careful balancing act.”
“Everyone wants to design a Corvette, but it is hard work. You want it to be a new design, but it needs to be recognizable as a Corvette…You don’t want to be the guy who screwed it up.”
Rumors suggest Chevrolet may be ready to depart from the current Corvette. The iconic muscle car had a slow sales rate of only 12,624 vehicles in 2010. Their best bet is to design an “all-American sportscar” that not only appeals to various generations in the US, but also globally. Corvette will reportedly retain a front-engine/RWD configuration, which may not help its case.
