Edward Whitacre Jr – GM’s New Chairman
Former AT&T chairman Edward Whitacre Jr. was named the new head of General Motors today. The news is coming straight out of Detroit that GM Corp. says the former CEO of AT&T Inc. will become the take charge of the auto maker later this summer.

Whitacre will replace Kent Kresa, though Kresa will remain GM’s interim chairman until the automaker emerges from bankruptcy protection. In other words, Eddy takes over once GM becomes a U.S. government owned company. Let’s hope the service at GM will be better then the cell phone range for AT&T customers, or the capabilities of the iPhone 3G.
General Motors continues to operate under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, as it reorganizes and sheds “unwanted assets” – ie: Hummer, Saturn, etc.

No Surprise that GM had to sink like the Titanic.. Just the pain and hard work of 300 Million Taxpayers going down the drain.. Whose responsible for that?
